Belize Tourism Board under the Sustainable Tourism Program has contracted iE to design a master plan for the rehabilitation of the Saca Chispas lagoon area in down town San Pedro Ambergris Caye. This project involved a feasibility study and plans that will rehabilitate the existing conditions of the local fishermen community into an upgraded promenade that will keep the heart of a fishing community in the design. The project also includes the upgrading of the existing football field to accommodate a boating terminal and docks for local tour operators. This project is scheduled for construction in 2011.
